Goin’ to the Chapel of Love

Well, believe it or not I’m getting married in 3 days.  I’ve been looking forward to this since the day I proposed (and before) but even when you think you have months to go, it really comes quicker than you could ever imagine.

Most of you who read my little corner on the web here know me/her/both of us and a bit about our history.  We met almost 10 years ago when we started college, dated off and on for longer than I want to get into, and finally around 3 years ago decided we were morons for not realizing what we both had.

I decided a few back that I was done posting personal issues/things on my site, but I can’t resist to not talk about how excited I am for friday. This will be my last post for a few while I get caught back up with life, we’re leaving for our honeymoon to Hawaii Saturday and out for a week.  I plan on trying to Qik some video and photo blog from my phone here and there, so feel free to stick around.

Tammy @ redloftstudios will be blessing us with her camera and creativity at the wedding to take photos.  Usually all the girls at redloft post up a few favorites a day or two after on their blog, so I’ll be sure to re-post those here when I get the word.

Hand’s down, everyone I’ve told about our marriage plans has wished us the best.  I have some pretty straight-talking friends so I know at least a few must really mean it. *chuckle* Me and Val both really want to thank all of you for showing your love and support. It’s wonderful.

Aloha.

Getting Close

Today me and Val headed to the Old County Courthouse for Orange County and got our marriage license.  Might I add that it was probably the most painless thing we’ve had to do in this whole process.

Downtown Santa Ana is already a crazy mess and trying to figure out where we were supposed to go was nothing short of a challenge.  Out of pure luck we parked behind the building and gave it a shot, who knew.  We were in and out in 15 minutes.

Strangely it was almost a little too easy to get married.  But I’m glad we got it done.  Only a few more things left to do for the big night.  Man I can’t wait.

Quick update: Thank you everyone for reaching out and showing us love.  Yesterday was a really great day.  For those of you who know val, you know that I couldn’t “plan” this for one minute without her seeing right through me.  Thats one of the reasons I love her, she keeps things challenging because she hates surprises.  Yesterday’s surprise however she wasn’t complaining about after. I had a few ideas of how I would do it, but when the moment presented itself I knew I had to go for total shock and it worked perfect. We spent half the day together hanging out in the Laguna area.  Stopped by the Mission Viejo Mall to get some coffee and browse around a bit, went to The Regency Mann Theater to see Up The Yangtze (amazing movie – thanks for the tip Dave).  Then we found a little Italian spot right around the corner and got some dinner.

I planned out the Italian spot because they were the only restaurant I could find that serves Tagliatelle which is her favorite dish we had on our trip to Rome (our table). Once we sat down and ordered a bottle of wine, it worked out perfectly, she got up to go to the bathroom, so I set the box open under her napkin which she hadn’t touched yet. When she got back to the table the waiter was already pouring our wine for us and she said “Of Course”.

Thanks again to everyone who called, texted, commented and are sending their good wishes our way, we love you all and it makes things like this so much more worth it to share.
