Danny @ Coachella

One of my (many) favorite parts of the weekend was when Danny Tenaglia played the Timmy Regisford quentin harris remix of R.E.M. – Loosing My Religion as his last track. The vid I shot doesn’t do the quality of the sound justice, but if you could feel the energy of that place, you’d be right there with me.

 

 

Just to mention, we were pretty close at this point, there was probably another football field of tent behind us of people rocking the hell out.

 

I found a higher quality sample of the track here (direct audio link), some people in forums think it’s horrible, I beg to disagree. At least in this set, it was magic.

New Cinematic Album

New AlbumI can’t even express how excited I was earlier today when Sandeep told me about the new Cinematic Orchestra release. Live at the Royal Albert Hall is an amazing Live Album.. fantastically performed and the vocals are sublime. I’ve been obsessed with their music for about the past half year when I randomly found them through a review on allofmp3. After Gilles Peterson interviewed and praised them in one of his podcast’s, it just sealed the deal. Their music is so addictive and sexy you just want to keep listening to it.  So far everyone I’ve introduced them to can only agree.  

 

One of the highlights of my weekend at Coachella this year is going to be watching them perform, I just hope I can fight off the 10,000 people that will be battling me to the front of the stage.
